(50/50) Yacht Sailing

Guide your monkey's yacht through treacherous waters and obstacles to reach the goal at the other side. Hazards include rocky sea stacks, whirlpools and sharks.

Tilt the Wii Remore for aiming your sail and hold A to lock in a direction. Shake the Wii remote then to blow air into your said and push your yacht forward.

My best time so far is 01'26"93.

(49/50) Whack-a-Mole

High above the blue ocean are moles on top of sea stacks. You must whack them with your hammer for points. There are blue ones that occasionally pop up worth extra points.

Thrusting and pulling the Wii Remote is for moving up and down and moving the cursor left and right is for sideways movement. When the cursor falls on a mole hole it locks momentarily, giving you the chance to do a hammering motion.

My highest score so far is 568.

(48/50) UFO Capture

Your monkey controls a UFO and you must capture the strange half egg looking creatures on the ground with your tractor beam. Thrusting and pulling the Wii Remote is for up and down movement, moving the cursor left and right is for sideways movement. Press the A button to beam up the creatures on the ground. Some of them are heavier so they take a while to beam up and the redder ones sometimes try to attack.

My highest score so far is 9,159.

(47/50) Trombone

Your monkey plays the trombone. Thrust and pull the Wii Remote to move the cursor to the different coloured notes and press the A button to play them when instructed. Takes some practice.

There are three songs to play here: FROG SONG, Stars and Butterfly which vary in difficulty and each have high scores to achieve depending on how well you play.

My highest scores so far are:

FROG SONG - 1,070
Stars - 1,670
Butterfly - 570

(46/50) Treasure Submarine

Explore slightly murky waters in search of treasure in your submarine. You can collect coins for points and big points come from buried treasure which your sonar can detect.

Tilting the Wii Remote in different directions steers your submarine. The B button is for driving forward and the A button is for using the crane arm to salvage any buried treasure. The UP and DOWN buttons are for rising and sinking the submarine to different depths.

My highest score here so far is 18,800.

(45/50) Spaceship Landing

Very similar to Lunar Lander but in 3D. You must use the tilting motions of the Wii Remote and the A button for thrusting to control the position and speed at which your ship may land on the target. Very quick game.

My highest score so far is 8,323.

(44/50) Space Monkey Attack

An arcade space ship shooter similar to the likes of Galaga or Phoenix. Tilt the Wii Remote left or right to move in those directions and press A or B to shoot. Not a bad shooter and it even has a boss battle. Unfortunately there's no turbo fire option.

My highest score so far is 2,780.

(43/50) Sling Shot

Use the giant sling shot to fire your Monkey Ball at the various targets. It uses the pointer for aiming and pulling back on the remote to stretch the catapult at various degrees while holding and releasing the A button for shooting.

My highest score so far is 670.

(42/50) Simon Says

On board a ship you must repeat what the instructor shows you to do with flags. Raise or lower the Wii Remote and Nunchuck depending on what the signal is.

My highest score so far is 4.

(41/50) Shepherd

On a farm you must get a dog to herd all the sheep into the barn. You use the pointer and a bone shaped cursor to guide the dog around and press A to let it bark and make the sheep run in that direction.

My highest score in this game so far is 1,081.

(40/50) Seesaw Ball

Your Monkey Ball appears at the top of a course and you must twist the Wii Remote to tilt the seesaw platforms left and right in order to guide it to the goal at the bottom safely.

There are 3 courses. The Easy course takes place above a blue ocean, the Normal course takes place above a desert and the Hard course takes place with volcanoes in the background.

Scoring depends on bananas collected, time taken to reach the goal and the colour of the spot you landed on at the goal, all added up.

My highest scores so far are:
Easy - 4,232
Normal - 5,519
Hard - 4,905

(39/50) Scoop the Goldfish

In this game you use a paper scoop to try and fish out as many goldfish into your cup as possible within 60 seconds.

Aim the pointer and thrust the Wii Remote to control the paper scoop and fish out the goldfish. When the paper scoop rips, press the A button to replace it. Be careful though, as you have a limited number of them.

My highest score so far is 7.

(38/50) Rock-Paper-Scissors Attack

Standing at opposite sides of a coffee table in a cosy living room, you face your opponent in a battle of rock-paper-scissors. The person who wins gets to bonk the other on the head with a toy hammer but the person who loses has a chance to defend themselves by using the bowl to block it.

Raising the Wii Remote is for doing the gestures, the buttons pressed determine if it's rock, paper or scissors. It's also for swinging the hammer. Raising the Nunchuck is for wearing the bowl.

The first to bonk the other on the head three times is the winner.

There's no high scoring in this game but I completed it.

(37/50) Ring Toss

A funfair style ring toss where you must hook thrown rings around poles. There's some jungle overgrowth around the area too. Use the pointer for aiming and hold the A button when you're ready to throw. Let go of the A button after the swing motion to throw.

Getting a ring around a pole gives you 100 points. You get a multiplier bonus for combos as well but diminishing returns if you hook it around the same pole.

My highest score so far is 550.

(36/50) Red Light, Green Light

Monkey Ball version of the popular playground game! Shake the Wii Remote and Nunchuck to move when the traffic light monkey has its back turned and hold still while they're looking at you. Very straightforward and fun. You win the game if you reach them first 3 times.

There's no high score for this game but I completed it.

(35/50) Racing Birds

Take control of a bird flying through rings while avoiding rocks and other obstacles. Steering is done with the Wii Remote and Nunchuck and it feels like a really good flight simulator. Shake them to make the bird flap higher and faster.

My highest score so far is 10,330

Tuesday, 3 November 2015

(34/50) Paraglider

You paraglide towards a target on an island. The wind can help push you and raise you. You press the Z and B buttons as well as do a motion for steering in that direction and both at the same time to slow down. That's as far as I know. I haven't been able to get used to the controls for this game so I can only get the paraglider to turn sometimes.

There are three modes. Target is just for landing on the target, Landing is for landing on the target as close to a specified time as possible and Checkpoint Race is for passing checkpoints before landing on the target.

My highest score so far in Target is 71.48ft.

I didn't get a score for the others yet and any high score I've gotten in Paraglider so far has been out of pure luck!

(33/50) Paper Sumo Fighter

You and your opponent engage in a sumo match not as yourselves, but yourselves in paper form. The idea is to hit the play area behind your paper self to move it forward and push the other player's paper self out of the ring.

With the Wii Remote, thrusting is for moving your hand up and down, left and right is with the pointer. The A button is used to hit the play area.

There's no high score table for this game but I completed it.

(32/50) Number Ball

Billiard balls are bouncing around the screen and you have to use the Wii Remote's pointer to pick as many of the indicated ones out as possible within the time limit of 2 minutes. Each ball gives you 100 points.

The two modes on offer are Normal where you start from 1 and count on towards 2, 3, 4 and so on and Random where the sequence is random. Pay attention to the number indicated!

My best scores so far are:
Normal - 4,000
Random - 3,000
